Abstract Comics

For those of you who would like to explore abstract comics, you can take a look at Abstract Comics: The Blog or check out Abstract Comics: The Anthology, edited by Andrei Molotiu (available at Leddy Library and previewed here).

In the meantime, here's another example of an abstract comic: two pages from Rick Veitch's "Abstract Krackle" from the Abstract Comics blog. What interpretive framework might you use to approach this comic? How do Groensteen's ideas help you to think about this comic?
